Follow Me On Twitter - Magicinblogging

I’ve been using Twitter for several months now and see the possibilities for not only syndicating your content, but also elevating your visibility and credibility online.

Here’s a "Beginner’s Guide to Twitter" for you to check out. There are resources discussed and linked to from this blog post. I hope this helps you better understand how to use Twitter to put a few more eyeballs on your content.

Just a caveat, it’s about being social and contributing. It’s not about using Twitter as a broadcast mechanism for your products or services. Not to say that tweets for your webinars, podcasts, etc can never be tweeted, just make sure you engage and add to existing conversations too. It’s all about relationships.

Let me know what you think by commenting.

There’s absolutely NOTHING wrong with simply broadcasting your message. There are plenty of Tweeters doing it. Dell is broadcasting special Twitter-only deals Many news sources are simply spouting off headlines.

If you represent a reputable brand and your message is of value to your audience, you may very well find yourself with some followers.

Now, if you’re not as big as Dell or CNN, you might want to build new relationships, rather than relying on Twitter as a broadcast station for your existing relationships.

I have managed to meet quite a few people, been given free books, merchandise, tickets to expensive events, established joint ventures, been discovered by reporters — all through Twitter. But you can only do this by reaching out and sharing of yourself with others.

Daiv, thanks for sharing. You make some great points. I just want to make sure that we broadcast in a way that strengthens our brand, not diminish it.
