Discounting the value of social media, blogging, Facebook, and all those other “invites” you receive as being a viable tool for your message? You might want to think that over.
Gary Hayes, Personalized Media, created this cool app that tracks social media usage.
“I decided to put together this little Flash app (which is in constant development) showing how active & dynamic the Social Web, Mobile Industry and Game Business is.” ~Gary Hayes
Here are just three of the many interesting statistics he’s complied on social media:

TweetBeep
Similar to google news alerts (and if you don’t know about google news alerts, look at my YouTube channel, magicinwords for a how to video) Anyway, TweetBeep will send you alerts developed from your settings. The settings include keywords, keyword phrases, people, places, attitudes and contained links. You set it up and it sends you an email when something you’re looking for comes up.
The hottest links on Twitter. Give you an opportunity to retweet the original tweet. You can search topics through the search function or the categories.
Give you an idea of how much a topic, phrase, name is being discussed on Twitter.
Nifty little tool to give you some idea of where Tweeters, including yourself stand with Twitter. I have a 98.6.
Another tool to analyze the impact you are having at Twitter. Sign in with your twitter account.
Search and follow the latest trends in real time. Sign in with your Twitter account. I really like the search feature in this tool. I’m sure I’ve told you about the Wednesday night small business chat on Twitter. You follow the conversation via the hashtag.

Syndicating Your Content
Today’s show shares how RSS and Blogs start the content syndication process.

Have you taken a class on Twitter and you’re still as confused about it as you were before you took the class? I know the feeling.
On Wednesday, January 13, 2010 that changes!
This webinar is different! First, I’m limiting the number of attendees to five (5). Why? Because I’ve found that many people need “hands on” help to get their profile put together and just get started using Twitter.
Second, I use a desktop sharing technology to help YOU with your Twitter account. If you really want to make good use of our time together, you may want to subscribe to my Members Only area. It’s free and there are overview videos on Twitter, Facebook, WordPress and many other resources on social networking.
In this course we’ll:

I recently interviewed Ken Foster, author of Ask and You Will Succeed about the book and how he used social media to market the book, taking it to number one in six business categories at Amazon.
He shared the premise of the book and the 1001 Questions you can ask to discover your passions, what’s holding you back and start creating your successes.
We also discussed the publishing process, from self published to being picked up by a publishing house, as well as his use of Facebook, Twitter, affiliates and connections to set up a marketing strategy for the book launch.
I hope you enjoy the interview as much as I did. Please let me know what you think by commenting on the post.
